Short adventures for when you don't have twenty hours
Some weeks you just can't commit to a sprawling RPG. That's when compact adventures earn their keep. They tell a complete story and respect that your time is finite.
Hollowtide Isles is my go-to example. You can finish it over a couple of evenings, and it never pads itself with filler. Every island has a reason to be there.
Shorter doesn't mean lesser. A tight five-hour game that sticks the landing beats a forty-hour one that overstays its welcome. We've reviewed plenty of both.
So if your backlog feels intimidating, pick something small and finish it. Momentum is its own reward, and a clean credits roll feels great.
