Ironvault Tactics
★★★★★ 4.5
Ironvault Tactics drops you onto hex maps where one bad move can unravel a whole run. It's a slow, thoughtful strategy game, and that's the point. You line up flanks, hold the high ground, and bait the enemy into overextending.
The campaign eases you in, but the difficulty curve gets steep fast. We found ourselves restarting missions just to try a cleaner approach, and that replay itch is a good sign. Unit upgrades are meaningful without feeling like a treadmill.
On a phone it plays well thanks to generous tap targets and a pinch-zoom that actually works. On a tablet it shines even more. If you like chess-adjacent planning, this one earns a spot.
What we liked
- Positioning-first tactical combat
- Meaningful unit upgrades
- Great on both phone and tablet
